The main difference in pickleball balls is whether you are playing indoor or outdoor.
The most prevalent brands of outdoor pickleballs are: TOP, Dura, Franklin and ONIX. all of these balls are approved by the USA Pickleball Association’s for tournament play. All of these are seamless.
Pickleball balls designed for outside are heavier with harder plastic and smaller holes. These features allow for increased durability, wind resistance, and bounce. In contrast, indoor pickleball balls have softer and lighter plastic with larger holes to provide more accurate shots and a better bounce on indoor surfaces.
